Helping Hands D.C. Inc was founded in New York City in 1995 by Darryl Williams and Co-founded by Linda Williams. Helping Hand D.C. Inc. was formed as a group family day care facility. In 1998 Helping Hands D.C. Inc. expanded its operations and became a group family day care facility. This was done to meet the increasing needs of the children and teens in the community that we serve.
In 2002 Helping hand D.C. inc. became a Federal and NYS Non- Profit Organization 501 3 c
In 2005 the organization began a concentration on reference and referrals for children and teens with institutions,organization, businesses and individual that care for, nurture, boost self esteem and promote emotional, mental and physical health. In addition to providing information on medical and dental options for children, teens and their families.
In the fall of 2012 Helping Hands obtained in Non-Profit 501 3 c status in North Carolina and begun offering its services in Charlotte, North Carolina. We are looking forward to making a real and relevant impact on the communities in Charlotte.
In 2014 Helping Hands began providing most of their services via the web. Allowing a one stop resources for children and teens.
Helping Hands D.C. Inc. will offer our services to all that request when our resources and facility allow us to do so. We are dedicated to connecting children and teens to the professional care and development that they deserve.
Helping hands understands that loving and trusted care is the primary responsibility of any entity that is providing care and related services to children and teens. The perfect match between parents, guardians, caretaker, children, teens is essential for a safe, educational, productive and overall positive life experience.
Safety and genuine love and concern for our children and teens is top priority for Helping Hands D.C. Inc. will make every effort to screen and investigate any organizations, institutions and programs that we utilize referrals, reference, placement, affiliation, endorsement and or support. This includes but is not limited to licenses and certifications, health certifications, operating credentials and any confirmed cases of abuse.
OUR FOUNDERS
Dr. Darryle Williams is one of two founders of Helping Hands Day Care. Inc. Mr. Williams attended York College of the City University of New York School of continuing adult education. He received his certificates and and awards during his senior year of High school. Mr. Williams received his Bachelors Degree in English/education from Brooklyn College . In the fall of that same year he began training with the New York City board of Health to prepare to open Helping Hands D.C.,Inc. In 1995 he received his license to operate a family day care. Mr. Williams along with his other Co-founder opened Helping Hands in the winter of 1995. In 1996 Mr.Williams received a certification from the city of New York Human Resources Administration Child welfare and Administration Group work Services Program Parent Leadership Institute. In 1999 Mr. Williams began training with the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and S.U.N.Y. Early Childhood Education & training program. Mr. Williams has accumulated over sixty accreditation's and certificates. Mr. Williams has a Masters in Divinity and Doctorate in Theology.
Mrs. Linda Williams – Co Founder is the mother of two adult children. Mrs. Williams also has two adult grandchildren and four great grandchildren.. Mrs. Williams was a very important part of the formation or Helping Hands Day Care, Inc. She provided the location space so that Helping Hands D.C. could run its day to day operations in its original space.. Mrs.Williams has given her resources, time and support consistently over the years. She has been a mentor and counselor to the parents of the children and teens that Helping Hands services.Mrs. Williams was employed by the state of New York for over 41 years. She is also the vice president for her union location in New York City. Mrs. Williams is also the second vice president for her union in New York City.She has been a union supporter and representative for over 35years.
